Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a seasoned Cloud Architect/Lead to design and optimize scalable cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and secure deployment frameworks in a remote US role.

The candidate should have deep AWS, Terraform, and AWS CDK experience, plus hands-on GitLab CI/CD, container platforms, and security/compliance expertise. Expect multi-account, multi-region environments and advanced observability practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of AWS Cloud experience preferred.
• Hands-on Terraform and AWS CDK expertise.
• Proven experience with GitLab CI/CD and pipeline automation.
• Strong experience with ECS/EKS and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of security, compliance, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust GitLab CI/CD pipelines for multi-environment deployments.
• Configure and manage GitLab Runners (EC2/EKS-based autoscaling).
• Optimize pipeline performance with parallelism, caching, and reusable artifacts.
• Implement automated release management with tagging, versioning and rollbacks.
• Develop IaC using Terraform and AWS CDK with modular design.
• Automate provisioning of AWS services (VPC, IAM, EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3).
• Build multi-account, multi-region AWS environments using CDK pipelines.
• Implement blue/green, canary, and rolling deployments.
• Deploy applications to ECS/EKS and manage runtime config.
• Manage Kubernetes with Helm and standardize deployments.
• Manage container lifecycles and registry governance (GitLab Registry, ECR).
• Integrate security controls (SAST/DAST, dependency scanning, secrets).
• Enforce least-privilege IAM roles and cross-account access controls.
• Enable PCI DSS, SOC 2, GDPR, CIS compliance reporting.
• Develop end-to-end observability with CloudWatch and partners.
