Job summary

Wakefield is an applied research lab building AI-enabled security services. We seek an operations partner to directly support the founders and keep the company moving in San Francisco.

You will decide what a person should handle and what an agent should manage, including founder support, recruiting coordination, customer meetings, and the systems behind them. You will schedule calendars, manage logistics, and implement lightweight AI automations that make recurring work run itself, while

Responsibilities

• Manage founder calendars, inbox triage and travel planning.
• Coordinate recruiting: scheduling, trials and candidate logistics.
• Lead customer meetings and briefings: scheduling and follow-up.
• Oversee company logistics, office operations, NDAs and records.
• Plan dinners and events from guest list to follow-up.
• Develop lightweight AI automations to streamline recurring work.

Job description

We find and fix every vulnerability in our customers' applications. When a new AI model is released, we run it against their applications before attackers do, and close what it finds.

About Wakefield

Wakefield is an applied research lab working on AI-native security services. We build security agents and publish how they work. Our methods, benchmark and raw data are public so anyone can check them.

• Source code optional: blackbox agents sign in as every role and test the running app. Whitebox agents read the code on every pull request.

• If Wakefield can't prove it, the customer never sees it: agents replay each finding in a real browser and record it. Then Wakefield writes the fix, ready to open as a pull request, and retests it. We have SLAs for zero false positives.

• One service that replaces DAST, SAST, SCA, SBOM, and the tests companies run in-house or buy in.

The role

Wakefield runs a lot of its own work with agents. You'll work directly with the founders and own the work that keeps them and the company moving, including deciding what a person should handle and what an agent should: founder support, recruiting coordination, customer meetings, company logistics, and the systems behind them.

Requirements

• Experience supporting founders or executives at a fast-growing startup

• You've built systems and processes from scratch

• You're extremely meticulous and catch the missed detail before anyone else

• You see what needs doing and close the loop without being chased

• Strong judgment on what to handle yourself, what to escal… and when

• You use AI tools every day to automate recurring work

• You're warm and socially confident with candidates, customers and partners

• You genuinely enjoy making things run well
