Job summary

Wakefield is an applied research lab delivering AI-native security services. We hire to grow with the founders, owning core motions from recruiting to procurement, and even acting as Chief of Staff for exceptional candidates.

You’ll work directly with the founders to build end-to-end processes, from partnerships and pricing to enterprise procurement, operating cadence, and strategic projects that scale with customer demand.

Responsibilities

• Own the recruiting system end-to-end: applicant tracking, partners, cadence.
• Develop partnerships and channels that enable real distribution.
• Lead pricing and contracting: annual agreements, deal structures, terms.
• Oversee enterprise procurement: security reviews, vendor onboarding for large customers.
• Set operating cadence: planning, dashboards, weekly goals, updates for board/investors.
• Tackle special projects from first version to running motion.

We find and fix every vulnerability in our customers' applications. When a new AI model is released, we run it against their applications before attackers do, and close what it finds.

About Wakefield

Wakefield is an applied research lab working on AI-native security services. We build security agents and publish how they work. Our methods, benchmark and raw data are public so anyone can check them.

• Source code optional: blackbox agents sign in as every role and test the running app. Whitebox agents read the code on every pull request.
• If Wakefield can't prove it, the customer never sees it: agents replay each finding in a real browser and record it. Then Wakefield writes the fix, ready to open as a pull request, and retests it. We have SLAs for zero false positives.
• One service that replaces DAST, SAST, SCA, SBOM, and the tests companies run in-house or buy in.

The role

Wakefield sells a service, not a tool, to large companies that have never bought anything like it. You'll work directly with the founders to own the motions that run the company, and hand each to an agent once it works: recruiting, partnerships, pricing and contracting, enterprise procurement, the operating cadence, and special projects. For exceptional candidates, this role is Chief of Staff to the founders.

What you'll work on

The following is an illustrative list of areas where you'll build systems from scratch. At any given time, you may own two or three of them:

• Partnerships and channels that create real distribution.
• Pricing and contracting: annual agreements priced on what we protect, deal structures and contract terms.
• Enterprise procurement: security reviews, questionnaires and vendor onboarding with large customers.
• Operating cadence: planning, weekly goals, dashboards, and board and investor updates.
• Special projects that don't fit anywhere yet, from first version to running motion.
