Job Description and Duties

This is an "Until Filled" position. The application cut-off date is April 8, 2026, 11:59 PM (PST). Interested individuals must submit their application packages by the cut-off date to be considered.

Overview: The Chief Deputy’s Office (CDO) seeks an enthusiastic, highly organized individual with strong administrative skills who recognizes the importance of innovation and continuous improvement in keeping programs moving forward. Under the direction of the Chief Deputy Superintendent, the Executive Assistant (EA) or Executive Secretary (ES) provides critical support for the daily operations of the Executive Office. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and manage the Chief Deputy's calendar.
  • Arrange travel logistics.
  • Track work items through various systems (e.g., Correspondence Tracking System) and organize data.
  • Communicate with Executive and Division level leaders and staff, and external partners.
  • Collaborate with Division staff to improve procedures and develop system innovations.
  • Act as Attendance Clerk and Timekeeping support.
Working Conditions

Location: Sacramento, California. Hybrid telework schedule available for eligible applicants residing in California. Hybrid means days remote and days in the Sacramento office; it is preferred that the selected applicant lives in Sacramento or nearby with weekly in-office attendance as required.

Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025: Effective July 1, 2025, the PLP 2025 applies to this position. The base pay may be reduced by 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The posted salary range does not reflect this reduction.
