Job summary

AIG is seeking a Complex Director in Excess Claims to oversee some of the largest and most complex casualty claims, including multi-vehicle auto incidents, plant explosions, and class actions. Review coverage, direct investigations, and coordinate strategy while communicating with insureds, brokers, and attorneys.

Based in Denver, you will lead negotiations, present to senior management, and ensure budgets and reserves align with risk and business objectives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Commercial/Industry claims experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and strong negotiation skills.
• Advanced experience and capabilities in litigation claims management including ADR and mediation process.
• Experience attending and controlling cases—pre-suit, litigated and post trial—at mediations and settlement conferences.
• Property and Casualty licenses required, must be obtained within 6 months.
• Motivated individuals who are interested in the potential for an upwardly mobile career path.

Responsibilities

• Handle some of the largest and most complex Casualty claims in the industry, including multi-vehicle auto accidents and other major losses.
• Review coverage under Excess CGL and auto policies, participate in investigations and strategy development.
• Direct litigation, attend mediations and trials, assess liability and damages, and recommend reserves.
• Present large value cases to senior management and communicate with insureds, brokers, attorneys, and claimants.
• Negotiate multimillion-dollar claims with top plaintiff attorneys nationwide and manage litigation budgets and ground rules with defense and coverage counsel.
