Job summary

Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Drain Service in California is seeking an Excavation Technician/Laborer to perform residential and commercial excavations for plumbing issues. You will operate excavation equipment, perform pipe repairs or installations, and interact with customers on-site.

Responsibilities include prioritizing safety per OSHA, working in confined spaces, and traveling between job sites. Flexible hours including nights/weekends are required; CDL eligibility may be needed for driving

Qualifications

• Hands-on excavation experience in residential and commercial settings.
• Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL may be required depending on vehicle.
• Demonstrate proficiency in navigating excavation environments, including confined spaces and trenches.
• Complete jobs within specified time lines; CDL or ability to obtain if necessary for vehicle.
• Be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety by adhering to OSHA and Roto-Rooter safety protocols.
• Interact with customers as needed.
• Perform excavation tasks followed by pipe repairs or new pipe installations as an Excavation Technician.
• Operate back-hoe, mini-excavator, skid steers, or other excavation machinery.
• Work in confined spaces and open trenches.
• Locate and travel to job sites; drive service vehicle between sites.
• Collect monetary payment and proceed to next service call.
• Direct interaction with customers including vulnerable populations.
• Enter customers’ residences providing trustworthy service while solving problems.
