Redwire Defense Tech is seeking an Aircraft Electrical Interconnect (EWIS) Lead in Huntsville, AL or San Luis Obispo, CA. You will architect, design, integrate, and validate electrical interconnect across multiple UAS platforms, guiding subsystem trade studies and ensuring safety, reliability, and manufacturability.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience delivering electrical interconnect designs to production in mass-sensitive applications
• 5+ years of progressive experience in electrical, avionics, or embedded hardware development
• Demonstrated leadership of small engineering/specialist teams
• Experience supporting full product lifecycle: concept → prototype → test → flight → production
• Generate and maintain wiring schematics, connector pinouts, and harness drawings using CAD tools
• Coordinate with manufacturing, test, and quality teams to ensure harness reliability
• Deep expertise with avionics integration, power systems, harness architecture, and communication interfaces
• Advanced proficiency with Altium Designer or equivalent schematic tools
• Strong knowledge of interconnect design, signal integrity, shielding, and environmental constraints
• Expert-level troubleshooting with oscilloscopes and diagnostic equipment
• Strong communication and leadership across multiple levels

• Design and develop complex wire harnesses for UAS systems, including signal/power/data/RF lines
• Evaluate design trade-offs across performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability
• Develop and maintain BOMs and support release of drawings
• Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analyses, and investigations affecting aircraft safety
• Coordinate with software, GNC, mechanical, test, and production teams for seamless electrical integration
• Champion electrical engineering standards and review processes across programs
• Represent electrical engineering during program reviews with experts and leadership
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers in technical development
• Support supplier management and evaluation of new technologies for future platforms
• Drive continuous improvement of test methods, documentation, and workflows
