Job summary

Redwire Defense Tech is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical subsystem design for avionics, sensors, and power systems used in fixed-wing and VTOL unmanned aircraft. You will own wiring harness architecture, schematics, and system interfaces while coordinating with mechanical, software, and flight test teams.

The role requires 4–7 years in electrical or avionics design, strong EMI/EMC knowledge, and experience with prototype builds and flight testing in a demanding aerospace

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 4–7 years of hands-on experience in electrical, avionics, or embedded hardware design.
• Experience owning subsystem-level design from concept through validation.
• Experience supporting prototype builds, HIL/SIL testing, and/or flight test operations.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and electrical design tools (Altium Designer preferred).
• Strong understanding of wiring harness development, signal routing, shielding, and EMI/EMC mitigation.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analysis tools, and electrical debug equipment.
• Deep understanding of communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, RS-422/485, UART).
• Knowledge of power electronics, DC/DC regulation, and battery/ESD protection strategies.
• Familiarity with aerospace cable assemblies, MIL-SPEC connectors, and environmental qualification standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical subsystem design and integration for avionics, sensors, payloads, and power distribution.
• Develop wiring harness architecture, schematics, PCB requirements, and interfaces.
• Coordinate with mechanical, software, and flight test teams; perform system-level troubleshooting.
