Job summary

Bridgeport Hospital, part of Yale New Haven Health, is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to perform daily cleaning of patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms and corridors. The role focuses on hospital-wide cleanliness, as well as following infection control procedures and safety guidelines.

Under supervision, you will maintain rooms and surfaces, handle cleaning chemicals safely, and support the patient care team by ensuring a sanitary, welcoming environment for patients

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must pass all pre-employment screenings as required by the client.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical duties.
• Must understand and speak English to perform duties safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning of patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices and corridors.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment and work stations; report repairs.
• Follow safety policies; use protective devices and proper lifting techniques.
• Attend scheduled meetings and in-services as directed by supervisor/manager.
