Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Services Corp. Bridgeport Hospital seeks an Environmental Services Technician to keep patient areas, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, and clinics spotless and safe. The role follows strict infection control and safety procedures under the EVS supervisor.

Responsibilities include high/low dusting, cleaning floors, restrooms, and replenishing supplies, with emphasis on timely, courteous service and teamwork within the patient care environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to understand and speak English for safe performance.
• Must demonstrate proper use of supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, clinic areas, corridors, stairwells, elevators and other assigned areas.
• Follow infection control procedures and safety policies.
• Maintain assigned equipment and report repairs as needed.
• Attend scheduled meetings and in-services as directed by supervisor.
