Job summary

The Queen's Health Systems is seeking a Manager of Environmental Services (EVS) to oversee housekeeping operations in assigned areas. You will lead daily operations, ensure cleanliness, infection prevention alignment, and patient/satisfaction goals, while managing resources and budgets.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Nursing, Infection Prevention, Facilities, Safety and HR, ensuring regulatory compliance, and preparing back-up coverage for emergencies and shifts, including evenings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; or four (4) years of progressively responsible Environmental Services experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
• Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) preferred.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible Environmental Services, Housekeeping, or Linen Services experience, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory/leadership capacity.
• Acute care hospital Environmental Services leadership experience preferred.
• Experience working in a unionized environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of Environmental Services operations for assigned area.
• Achieve departmental goals related to cleanliness, infection prevention, patient satisfaction, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, and fiscal stewardship.
• Ensure effective utilization of human, financial, equipment, and material resources.
• Coordinate ES operations with Nursing, Patient Flow, Infection Prevention, Facilities Management, Safety, HR, and other departments.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards for patient care, public, and support areas, supporting patient throughput and quality outcomes.
