Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Housekeeping Technician Lead for the Evening shift. The role supervises Environmental Services staff, ensures high cleaning standards, and supports the EVS Manager with daily operations.

You will train and motivate staff, monitor equipment, and ensure infection control practices in patient areas. Prior EVS supervisory experience and a high school diploma or GED are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or a minimum of 5 years work experience in a hospital in lieu of the diploma or GED.
• Minimum of three years of EVS experience or experience working in a supervisory/leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Assists Manager in maintaining a high-quality standard and trains, supervises and motivates EVS staff to meet schedules.
• Serves as backup to EVS Supervisor when needed.
• Lead responsibilities include overseeing assigned areas, ensuring work is done correctly and on schedule, and communicating issues to the Supervisor.
• Instills a service-minded approach and motivates staff by recognizing good work and areas for improvement.
• Assists with training and equipment inspection for proper operation.
• Maintains good relations with patients, facility and staff, and documents daily activities in the operation log.
