Job summary

Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Valley Race Course is seeking a dedicated housekeeping/janitorial team member to maintain clean and safe guest areas. You will operate cleaning machines, manage ground-level and high-reach tasks, and work with a team to keep facilities in top condition.

Starting pay is $13.50 per hour, with eligibility for benefits and paid time off per local policy. The role requires reliability, physical stamina, and the ability to follow safety procedures on shift.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred; High School diploma; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment as assigned.
• Clean and maintain assigned areas, move furniture, and report issues to Supervisor.
• Provide exceptional guest service while performing duties and adhere to all policies.

• Operating carpet shampooer and buffer.
• Going up in the high lift to clean ceiling fixtures.
• Recognizing and ensuring appropriate chemicals are used when cleaning and mixing appropriate chemicals.
• Moving furniture and cleaning of assigned areas.
• Maintaining and cleaning machines after use.
• Reporting any problems to Supervisor.
• Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
• Mopping, scrubbing, rinsing and polishing hard floors.
• Moving, rearranging and cleaning furniture.
• Operating and controlling all mechanical equipment including rotary machines, blowers and backpack vacuums.
• Providing exceptional Customer Service to all guests.

Qualifications:

• Must present a well-groomed appearance.
• Must be comfortable working at high heights.
• Must be able to use and control various mechanical equipment.
• Operating shampooing and sweeping equipment.
• Able to use ladders, as well as clean ground level areas.
• Performing duties with a sense of urgency.
• Working as a team with other employees.
• Transporting all supplies to and from work areas.
• Operating the following equipment to include: vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, mop and broom.
• Other duties, as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:

Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred; High School diploma; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of America money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Possess ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certifications, Licenses, Registration :

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Penn National Gaming’s auto insurance carrier.
