Job summary

Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course is hiring for a team member in a fast-paced, guest-facing role. You will take food and beverage orders, handle payments, deliver and buss tables, and keep dining areas clean and stocked.

You will collaborate with the culinary team to meet guest needs and maintain equipment and sanitation standards. Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, 6 months of experience in food or customer service with cash handling, and strong English

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and take food and beverage orders in a friendly, positive manner.

• Stock counters and displays; maintain clean and sanitized work area.
• Coordinate with culinary team to ensure smooth shift operations.

• Interacting with guests and co-workers in a helpful, positive, upbeat, and professional manner while taking food/beverage orders, accepting payment through cash, credit, check and comps, delivery of order to guests, and bussing and cleaning of dining area.
• Monitoring and replenishing all food products in work area by stocking counters and displays in a neat, accurate and timely fashion.
• Ensuring work area is neat, clean and sanitized before and throughout shift by wiping counter areas, beverage stations, sinks, and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe workstation.
• Ensuring and monitoring rotation and quality of product for appearance and safe holding temperature and proper storage of prepared foods under refrigeration with product, date and proper storage containers to minimize waste and spoilage and ensure quality attractiveness.
• Partnering with culinary team to ensure coordinated workflow during shift to meet business demands and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintaining all equipment in proper fashion.

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma; Six month’s experience in food or customer service field with cash handling preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of America money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Possess ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
