Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA) seeks paralegal staff for the Van Nuys Eviction Diversion Pilot Program to support attorney mediators, operate a court-based initiative, and coordinate rental assistance to prevent homelessness.

You will perform outreach, eligibility screenings, data entry in Forward, support with ADR services, maintain records in Legal Server, and travel across LA County as needed; hybrid on-site twice weekly.

Competenze

• Proven ability to conduct community outreach and public engagement to raise program awareness.
• Experience screening eligibility for clients or participants in person, virtually, or by phone.
• Strong organizational skills to schedule appointments, manage calendars and deadlines.
• Proficiency with data entry, case management, and maintaining accurate records in databases.

• Assist in outreach to inform community about VN-EDPP services.
• Conduct VN-EDPP eligibility screenings in person, virtually, or by phone; schedule litigants.
• Enter data into Forward accurately and timely.
• Support attorneys with all aspects of alternative dispute resolution services.
• Assist litigants with gathering documentation for rental arrears applications.
• Maintain notes in Forward and timekeeping in Legal Server.
• Communicate effectively with VN-EDPP Litigants.
• Assist litigants to apply for services and rental arrears if approved.
• Perform clerical duties such as record-keeping and copying.
• Observe confidentiality and neutrality of litigants.
