Job summary

Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA) is seeking an intake screener to support eviction defense efforts. You will conduct client interviews, gather documents, track data, and coordinate with housing attorneys and paralegals to ensure smooth case intake.

This hybrid role requires on-site presence two days a week and travel within LA County. We value diversity and mission-driven individuals who are organized, communicative, and comfortable with court processes and bilingual

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Commitment to NLSLA's mission and serving low-income clients.
• Bilingual in Spanish is valued.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client interviews and intakes in collaboration with housing attorneys and paralegals.
• Coordinate with clients to obtain required documents for grants (immigration, financial, asset information).
• Maintain and organize client files and communicate with clients regularly.
• Retrieve court documents and provide to advocates.
