Job summary

Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA) is seeking an attorney to join our PEHP team, focusing on eviction defense for vulnerable community members, from pleadings to trial.

Reporting to the Supervising Attorney, this exempt role is hybrid: on-site at least two days weekly with remaining time eligible for remote work; occasional travel to courthouses and program offices in Los Angeles County may be required.

Responsibilities

• Defend tenants in unlawful detainer cases, advocating for their right to housing stability.
• Manage a varied caseload, ensuring that each client receives personalized, high-quality legal assistance.
• Create and conduct training for community partners and Know Your Rights workshops, and staff community outreach events.
• Maintain relationships with community partners by attending provider meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned reasonably related to the position and generally within the same level and classification as core responsibilities.
