Job summary

Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA) seeks a PEHP Paralegal to join a team focused on housing instability issues. The role emphasizes unlawful detainer matters and requires supervision by an attorney. The position is hybrid, with on-site work two days weekly and some remote work as needed.

You will report to the Supervising Attorney and support community members in crisis with strong organizational and communication skills. Travel across LA County may be required.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal Certificate or equivalent legal training.
  • BA/BS with 1 year of supervised legal experience or HS diploma with 3 years of supervised legal experience (documented).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and promptness.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intakes with community partners and clients.
  • Maintain organized client files and documents for compliance.
  • Provide information and legal assistance on unlawful detainer matters under attorney supervision.
  • Engage in outreach events and meetings with community partners to improve access to legal services.
  • Support team with administrative tasks and ensure proper workflow.
