Job summary

Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA) seeks an Associate Supervising Attorney to lead the eviction defense team, oversee attorneys and staff, and drive high-volume housing advocacy in a collaborative, mission-driven setting.

The role reports to the Supervising Attorney and is exempt. It requires strong litigation skills, leadership, and a commitment to anti-poverty work in Los Angeles County.

Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school and active California State Bar license.
Minimum of three years of relevant legal experience.
Experience supervising, mentoring, or training attorneys or staff preferred.
Litigation experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Supervise, train, and mentor attorneys, legal fellows and staff.
Oversee case management and review substantive casework.
Provide direct tenant representation in unlawful detainer matters as needed.
Serve on the NLSLA Leadership Team and support organizational priorities.
Travel to program offices, courthouses, and other LA County locations may be required.
