Job summary

The Tech Interactive in San Jose, CA is seeking an Event Associate to support a variety of events, including rentals, IMAX showings, extended hours, and community programs. This on-call, hourly role reports to the Special Events Senior Manager and requires flexible availability, especially evenings and weekends.

You may assist with ticket sales, concessions, store operations, and guest engagement, helping visitors with hands-on learning experiences during special events.

Qualifications

• One or more years of customer service or retail experience preferred.
• Ability to interact with guests and follow safety protocols.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; public speaking ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics of events with the Event Supervisor and execute setup and strike.
• On-site support contact for clients during events and guest interactions.
• Facilitate exhibits, hands-on activities, and learning experiences for visitors.
• Assist with volunteer coordination and break scheduling as needed.
• Handle ticket sales, memberships, concessions, or store sales when applicable.
• Support IMAX Theater duties including concessions, console, ushering, and cleaning.
