Job summary

Westin Hotels & Resorts in Houston seeks an experienced Event Manager to coordinate complex events and ensure superior service from pre-event to post-event. You will collaborate with Sales, property departments, and clients to maximize revenue opportunities and deliver exceptional experiences.

The role focuses on average to large events, with an emphasis on seamless turnover from sales to service and back. A strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and team leadership is required.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED; 1–2 years experience in event management or related area.
• Or a 2-year degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Admin or related field; at least 1 year event management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare event documentation and coordinate with Sales and property departments to ensure high-level service throughout all event phases.
• Assist with group room blocks and meeting space for average to large groups; hand off to Events team for execution.
• Ensure billing accuracy and review final bills with clients; manage revenue opportunities through upselling and enhancements.
• Lead pre- and post-event meetings; coordinate with Sales and Marketing to forecast revenue and sleeping rooms.
