Job summary

San Diego State University seeks an Audio-Visual Technician to provide professional AV support for programs in the Aztec Student Union. You will set up, operate, and tear down sound, lighting, and projection systems and assist with equipment maintenance.

The role requires vigilance in safety, strong customer service, and the ability to coordinate with university departments and event clients to ensure high-quality experiences at university facilities.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in SDSU as a student: half-time (6 undergrad units / 3 grad) or full-time for international/Graduate requirements.
• International students must maintain full-time enrollment (12 undergrad / 6 grad).
• Must be in good academic standing and eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and tear down professional AV systems for events.
• Troubleshoot AV issues and provide appropriate solutions.
• Perform safety-conscious setup/teardown and routine inspections of equipment.
• Inspect and service AV equipment on a scheduled basis and perform repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with event clients to meet ASU/SDSU policies and client expectations.
