Job summary

San Diego State University is seeking a customer-focused Technology Support Specialist I to support technology-enabled learning environments. You will provide frontline support for classroom and audiovisual technologies, assist with installation and maintenance of instructional systems, and help ensure reliable technology experiences for faculty, staff, and students.

Qualifications

Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field; substitution on a year-for-year basis.
General knowledge of IT systems, applications, and networks.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, faculty, and staff.
Experience with audiovisual (AV) control systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for faculty, staff, and students to resolve technology issues.
Troubleshoot classroom hardware, software, and audiovisual systems.
Deliver user training and develop support materials.
Assist with operation and maintenance of classrooms, labs, and conference rooms.
Configure systems to meet instructional needs and ensure reliable performance.
Assist with equipment upgrades and technology refreshes.
Collaborate with IT staff and campus partners on initiatives.
Prepare documentation, cost estimates, and technical recommendations.
