Job summary

The City of Norfolk seeks an energetic Event Support Crew Member II to transform venues for concerts, conferences and special events. You’ll lead setups, install chairs and equipment, and ensure safety and smooth operations while delivering excellent customer service to organizers, vendors, and guests.

This role requires at least one year of special events experience (or an equivalent education/experience mix), a forklift certification is highly desired, and readiness to work 40 hours weekly

Qualifications

• One year of special events experience required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Forklift certification, highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff and coordinate setup for events, including assembling stages, seating, and equipment.
• Ensure safety, maintain records, and coordinate with vendors and contractors.
• Set up and break down events, transport and operate portable equipment and small PA gear.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleanliness to keep facilities in good order.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
