Job summary

The City of Norfolk, VA, through SevenVenues, Department of Cultural Facilities, Arts and Entertainment, seeks a crew leader for events and facility maintenance. The role focuses on safety, coordination of setup/teardown, and ensuring quality in performance spaces and public venues.

Education and experience include an associate degree (preferred) and at least one year in special events; forklift certification is highly desired. This is a full-time, on-site position with benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand written instructions and operate machines.
• One year of special events experience required; associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as crew leader; provide information, assign tasks, and ensure safety of job sites.
• Coordinate setup and teardown of events; install and repair event-related equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe facilities; perform building and grounds maintenance, lighting, and signage tasks.
• Operate and maintain portable equipment and City vehicles; schedule maintenance and transports for mobile stages.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
