Job summary

The City of Birmingham is seeking an Event Setup Assistant for the CrossPlex to set up and disassemble for events such as weddings, receptions, and conventions, ensuring the room matches the setup sheet and complies with fire codes.

You will communicate with vendors and clients, move equipment with carts or forklifts, set up AV and lighting, and return spaces to a clean and ready state for the next event.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up tables, chairs, and linens per diagrams and instructions.
• Experience in customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for events by reviewing setup sheets and arranging equipment.
• Arrange tables and chairs per diagrams to meet client needs.
• Move equipment using carts, forklifts, or dollies.
• Set up audio/visual and lighting equipment and ensure proper function.
• Disassemble setups and clean the space after events.
• Return equipment to storage and check inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Perform maintenance and custodial tasks to keep venue clean and operational.
• Monitor supplies and report shortages to supervisor.
