Job summary

The City of Birmingham is seeking Event Setup Assistants for the CrossPlex. Employees in this position are responsible for setting up and disassembling for various events (e.g., weddings, receptions, banquets, conventions) at civic centers or auditoriums.

Incumbents in this job class review the setup sheets to determine the setup style (e.g., theater, convention, banquet) and what materials and equipment will be required for the event.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up tables, chairs, tablecloths for events by following diagrams and written instructions.
• Experience in customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for events by reviewing the setup sheet and arranging tables and chairs according to the diagram.
• Sets up audio/visual and lighting equipment and ensures it functions properly for presentations.
