Job summary

The City of Amarillo seeks a Building Attendant I to support Civic Center operations. You will set up stages, risers, tables and chairs for events, assist clients, and maintain sanitary conditions in restrooms and public areas. You will also handle routine cleaning tasks and ensure safety during events.

Shifts include evenings and weekends as part of a dynamic indoor environment. Experience in custodial work is preferred. Equal opportunity employer and accommodations are available upon request.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License is preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Erects stages and prepares banquet spaces, tables and chairs for events.
• Assists patrons with information or directions.
• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and floors.
• Vacuums, shampoos carpets, and handles cleaning equipment safely.
• Empties trash and maintains cleanliness in all areas.
• Inspects and reports safety or maintenance concerns.
