Job summary

BEST Crowd Management seeks an Event Security Officer to join the team at the Wilmington, NC Convention Center. You will maintain a visible security presence, patrol areas, monitor entry points, and respond to incidents to ensure safety for attendees and staff.

You will collaborate with event staff and emergency services, provide excellent customer service, and complete documentation for leadership review. A valid security license may be required; expect evenings, weekends, and holidays based on

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Previous event security or related field experience advantageous.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.
• May require valid security license per local regulations.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visible, professional security presence.
• Patrol assigned areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, bag checks, entry screenings.
• Respond to security incidents or medical emergencies.
• Collaborate with event staff, law enforcement, and emergency services.
• Provide customer service by assisting attendees and directions.
• Report security incidents to supervisor or medical personnel.
