Job summary

BEST Crowd Management is hiring for an Event Security Guard at Drake University in Des Moines, IA. This part-time role blends event staff duties with security tasks to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for attendees.

The ideal candidate will be 18+, have a HS diploma (college preferred), strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Prior security or law enforcement experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Background check and drug screening required.
• Possess or be willing to obtain a security license as required by local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setup and equipment/signage arrangement.
• Monitor access points and conduct security checks.
• Provide friendly customer service with inquiries and directions.
• Collaborate with staff to maintain a safe environment.
• Assist in crowd management and flow of attendees.
• Respond to incidents following established protocols.
