Event Operations Manager

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute all private events at Hotel Covington and The Madison Event Center, including wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, non-profit fundraisers, celebrations, board meetings, corporate seminars, networking functions, and more.
- Recruit, hire, and develop a team that embodies our company culture and provides excellent customer service, including creating job postings, reviewing applicants, conducting interviews, onboarding, and training new hires.
- Support and manage event staff, up to 80 part-time employees, by coaching, motivating, providing tools, planning team meetings, conducting performance reviews, and managing training policies.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by resolving issues, training staff to meet and exceed expectations.
- Maintain organized and presentable facilities, ensuring event spaces are ready for tours, and managing cleanliness and schedules.
- Collaborate with other departments such as Sales, Restaurant, and Culinary Teams, attending weekly meetings and reviewing event details.
- Manage labor and supply costs by working with vendors, negotiating contracts, creating event schedules, and managing payroll.
- Prepare for and execute in-house events like tastings, luncheons, and employee events.
- Manage relationships with vendors and local businesses, assisting outside vendors and cultivating professional relationships.
