Job summary

Kimpton Overland Hotel Atlanta is seeking a Banquet Captain to lead banquet operations during events, ensuring exceptional guest service and a safe, positive work environment for associates. You will coordinate banquet staff and work with the Banquet Manager, culinary team, and other hotel departments to execute events seamlessly.

You will review event orders, supervise setup, and ensure service quality and sanitation standards throughout each function.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising banquet staff at events.
• Strong knowledge of banquet service and event setup.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise banquet associates during meetings, conferences, weddings, and events.
• Review event orders and ensure proper room setups, service, and equipment.
• Conduct pre-event meetings and communicate expectations to the banquet team.
• Maintain banquet spaces per hotel standards and ensure safety and sanitation.
• Monitor food and beverage service for quality and timing.
• Lead on-floor presence, respond to guest requests, and resolve concerns.
• Coordinate with culinary, stewarding, housekeeping, engineering, front office, and event services.
• Provide coaching and recognition to staff; assist with training.
• Ensure proper handling of equipment, supplies, and inventories.
• Assist with opening/closing duties and with special projects as needed.
