University of Colorado Boulder is seeking a facilities supervisor to oversee event set-ups and daily maintenance for athletic and large stadium events at CU facilities.
You will plan maintenance, coordinate outside contractors, and ensure timely, safe operations during concerts, exams, and conferences. A commitment to safety, reliability, and service to athletics is essential.
The purpose of this position is to oversee facility conversions andevent set-ups; manage daily maintenance operations within the CUEvents Center; and coordinate the scheduling, planning, andoversight of preventative maintenance and repairs for the facilityand its equipment.
Work is performed with considerable independence in organizing andprioritizing schedules based on athletic team practices/games,including football and large stadium events at Folsom Field.
This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy andobjectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. Oversee event set-ups for concerts, commencements, exams, tradeshows, athletic practices and competitions and conferences.
Assess the technical needs of the client, as well as operating theevent accordingly. The needs of any particular event vary greatlyin scope and often require last minute alterations to allow anevent to work. Examples may include: audio/visual set-ups andtroubleshooting; operational knowledge of scoreboards, videoboards, forklift, spotlights, electrical power capacities; abilityto assess event logistics and determine the feasibility of clientrequests within the venue. Regular decisions would include, but notbe limited to, determining to proper frequency for preventativemaintenance on equipment and systems, as well as what shouldactually be done at that time. Understanding the affectedpersons/units needs and trying to address them in the process ofsolving/fixing the problem. Serve as a point of contact foroperation/event manager.
Plan and schedule maintenance and repairs to variousbuilding systems by assessing the problem, determining the bestcourse of action.
Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule andpricing for various building systems. Recommend replacement versusrepair alternatives. Determines work priorities, scheduling andstaff time. Identify degradations and abnormalities in thefacility's physical plant that require special knowledge, tools andexpertise on the part of outside contractors. Oversee andcoordinate outside contractors and University maintenance personnelin performance of duties, ensuring quality workmanship andcompletion on schedule. A broad-based knowledge of constructiontechniques and methods is required to effectively accomplish thistask.
Plan and schedule equipment by designing and implementingthe proper preventative schedule for equipment, machinery andtools.
This includes, but is not limited to, the maintenance of forkliftbatteries and hydraulics, vacuums, floor scrubbers, stageplatforms, hydraulic basketball goals and furniture. Daily facilitywalk-troughs to help compile maintenance and project lists.Maintain inventory levels and orders requests. Familiarity withoperations systems such as HVAC, plumbing, wood working, painting,and electrical for quick troubleshooting and communicating withcontractors.
This position is overtime eligible and will work in-person. Workschedule requires flexibility of work hours and days depending onevents scheduled, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Starting salary range is $59,000 - $62,000.
