Job summary

Legends Global, the premier partner to the world's greatest live events, seeks an Event Manager for the Greater Columbus Convention Center. You will plan, coordinate, and manage events, serving as the primary liaison among clients, facility staff, and service partners to ensure flawless execution.

You will oversee planning, floor plans, timelines, vendor coordination, and billing estimates, while adapting to irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in public facility management, promotion, or operation of conventions or trade shows or service-related operation preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Sound organizational, planning, and people skills.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains contact with client upon assignment of an event.
• Serves as primary liaison between clients and facility departments.
• Maintain rapport with clients, their associates, service suppliers, and building staff insuring the highest level of customer service.
• Meets with and guides clients to plan and organize assigned events and interprets, explains, and implements contract provisions, facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinates activities with various service contractors for assigned events.
• Keeps clients informed as to the status of deadline schedules, including floor plan submissions, meeting room set-up specifications, and event timelines.
• Prepares cost estimates and monitors final billing.
• Participates in weekly production meetings to review upcoming event details with all building departments.
• Required to work irregular schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays to accommodate business and client needs in the facility.
• Must have the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner.
• Must feel comfortable when around large groups or speaking to a guest.
• Understands the importance of providing customer service and in understanding of “The Magic is in the Details.”
