Job description

The Event Logistics - Audio & Visual Specialist is responsible for overseeing building operations, event logistics, and student staff during non-traditional work hours. They support student building managers and staff working nights and weekends. This position develops comprehensive event experience packages to enhance the faculty, students, and client experience.

Responsibilities
  1. Serve as the point of contact for the Sound & Light team, handling client and customer complaints and issues. Supervise and inspect SNL setups, assist with high-level events, resolve issues during events, and update student employee manuals.
  2. Supervise room setups, ensuring they match reservation requests, communicate with customers, secure equipment, and facilitate facility turnover at the end of events. Use daily event schedules and setup worksheets to provide excellent customer service.
  3. Oversee and supervise student staff at the Marshall Student Center, focusing on student development and leadership. Assist in recruitment, hiring, training, and onboarding of student staff.
  4. Manage opening, closing, clearing, and securing the facility, reporting security, maintenance, or equipment issues. Enforce policies and manage crises such as injuries or confrontations.
  5. Collaborate with Event Planners and the Operational Team to meet client and building needs, delivering high levels of customer service.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma and four years of related experience, or equivalent college coursework.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience in Audio & Visual Production.
