Job Description

The Event Logistics - Audio & Visual Specialist is responsible for overseeing building operations, event logistics, and student staff during non-traditional work hours. They support student building managers and staff working nights and weekends. This role develops comprehensive event experience packages to enhance faculty, student, and client experiences.

The specialty of this position is supporting audio-visual and lighting needs of the Marshall Student Center.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the point of contact for the Sound & Light team, handling client and customer complaints and issues. Supervise and inspect setups, assist with high-level events, resolve issues during events, and update student employee manuals.
• Supervise room setups, ensuring they match reservation requests, communicate with customers, secure equipment, and manage facility turnover. Use daily schedules and worksheets to provide excellent customer service.
• Oversee and supervise student staff at the Marshall Student Center, focusing on development and leadership. Assist in recruitment, hiring, training, and onboarding.
• Manage opening, closing, securing the facility, and report security, maintenance, or equipment issues. Enforce policies and manage crises such as injuries or confrontations.
• Collaborate with Event Planners and the Operations Team to meet client and building needs, ensuring high customer service levels.

Qualifications

Minimum: High school diploma and four years of related experience. College coursework may substitute experience at an equivalent rate.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience in Audio & Visual Production.

This position may require a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check.
