Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium seeks an Event Labor Supervisor for the 2nd shift. This role supervises labor in the Install and Dismantling department and supports bilingual translation as needed for events. Schedule varies by event and includes coordinating labor with unions and other sources.

Ideal candidates have prior supervisory experience, can handle fluctuating hours including evenings and weekends, and prefer Spanish language skills to assist clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Work daily with supervisors to establish staffing needs and communicate with union and labor sources.
• Schedule and coordinate labor for various trade shows at the ICC and Lucas Oil Stadium.
• Build and maintain relationships with trade show clients to ensure excellent service.
• Learn and operate event management software for billing and related tasks.
• Use strong communication to ensure smooth daily workflow.
• Serve as a bilingual liaison between clients and contractual laborers.
• Provide suggestions for ongoing improvements in the departments.
• Make recommendations related to hiring, firing or other changes in employee status.

The Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium (ICCLOS) is a powerhouse destination for some of the largest events in the country. Every day brings something new with hundreds of events throughout the year and annual events such as the Big Ten Football Championship game, FDIC International, Gen Con, Indiana Black Expo, Indiana Comic Con, National FFA, and PRI.

This position will perform duties relating to the supervision of labor in the Install and Dismantling department and also assist as needed with English/Spanish translation.

Schedule will vary days and shifts based on needs per each event.

DUTIES:

• Work daily with supervisors/decorators to establish staffing needs and communicate those needs to union and other labor sources
• Schedule and coordinate labor for various trade shows for the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium
• Building and cultivating relationships with trade show clients to ensure best service possible
• Learn and operate event management software systems to complete billing and other functions
• Utilize communication skills to ensure proper flow of workday
• Be a bilingual liaison between our clients and our contractual laborers.
• Suggestions and recommendations for ongoing improvements within the departments
• Make recommendations related to hiring, firing or other changes in employee status

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have the ability to multi-task, work with efficiency and composure under stressful conditions, and have the ability to interact positively with the public, clients, and co-workers. Must be able to work fluctuating hours, with emphasis on evenings and weekends. Must have previous supervisor experience. Must be able to work varying schedule of days and shifts based on event needs. Bilingual Spanish preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position assists in the supervision of a staff of 10 - 200 employees.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires constant standing, walking, climbing stairs. Frequent oral communication and occasional repetitive finger movement.
