Job summary

The Michaels Companies, Inc. is seeking an Event Coordinator at our Grandville, MI store to plan and execute in-store events and children's parties. You will support customers, assist shoppers, and ensure a fast, friendly checkout while maintaining store standards.

You will also handle project tasks like coordinating event details, communicating with clients and team members, and executing planograms and stock/merchandise duties to deliver an engaging guest experience.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and coordinating events, including children's parties.
• Strong customer service skills with ability to upsell or enroll rewards programs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a retail environment.
• Ability to manage multiple events and adapt plans based on client feedback.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events in-store, including birthday parties and crafts.
• Engage clients of all ages with a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate activities, face painting, and other party activities.
• Coordinate add-ons (goody bags, balloons) per company standards.
• Communicate events to clients and store team members; handle emails and calls.
