Job summary

Michaels Avon is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and run in-store events, including kids' birthday parties, crafts classes, and customer celebrations. You will engage guests, demonstrate activities, and help with checkout and store tasks to deliver a joyful experience.

You will coordinate with clients and teammates, manage communications, adapt plans, and uphold safety and cleanliness. Retail and customer service experience is preferred, with a passion for creativity and teamwork

Qualifications

• Excellent people skills and the ability to engage guests of all ages.
• Experience working with children and children’s events.
• Strong written and verbal communication and active listening.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills with creative problem-solving.
• Retail and/or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events in-store, including kids birthday parties and crafts classes.
• Engage customers, help them shop, and provide solutions.
• Deliver fast, friendly checkout and assist with rewards enrollment.
• Handle emails, calls, and paperwork; coordinate with store team.
• Prepare backup plans, ensure safety, cleanliness, and store standards.
• Cross-train in framing sales and production as needed.
