Job summary

Shoptalk is seeking an Event Director to lead Shoptalk Fall, a Nashville-based show. You will own strategy, growth, production, and execution, driving commercial performance, customer experience, and long-term growth for a 3,000+-person event.

You will oversee sponsorship and exhibition revenue, hosted retailer recruitment, delegate attendance, content strategy, partnerships, operations, and product development, collaborating with senior leaders across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience leading large-scale events or complex commercial projects in a high-growth B2B environment.
• 5+ years of people leadership, managing cross-functional teams.
• Strong track record of owning revenue and profit targets.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and commercial performance.
• Experience in events, media, retail, consumer goods, technology, or adjacent sectors is desirable.
• Ability to work from Midtown Manhattan office three days a week (Tue–Thu).

Responsibilities

• Own the overall vision, strategy, and delivery of Shoptalk Fall.
• Develop annual growth plans aligned with revenue, attendance, and profitability.
• Lead cross-functional planning and execution with shared priorities.
• Drive continuous improvement of the customer experience.
• Serve as internal champion and external ambassador for Shoptalk Fall.
