Job summary

Hilton Santa Clara is seeking a friendly Coffee Bar Attendant / Barista to join our Food & Beverage team. You’ll prepare coffee, beverages, smoothies, and food items, while delivering warm, attentive service in a fast-paced hotel environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, organization, and consistent guest satisfaction. Qualifications include 1 year of barista or beverage service experience and a CA Food Handler certification; compensation is $28.41/hour with overtime eligibility.

We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and service-focused Coffee Bar Attendant / Barista to join our Food & Beverage team. This position is responsible for providing warm and responsive service to our guests while preparing quality coffee, beverages, smoothies, and food items in a clean, safe, and efficient environment.

The ideal candidate is a team player who enjoys interacting with guests, can remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in creating a welcoming guest experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive service.

  • Take and accurately process food and beverage orders.

  • Prepare coffee, specialty beverages, smoothies, oatmeal, and other food and beverage items according to established standards.

  • Set up and maintain the coffee bar station to ensure it is clean, organized, and fully stocked.

  • Assist servers with coffee and beverage orders for their tables.

  • Process guest payments accurately and efficiently.

  • Complete all required opening, closing, and side-work duties.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary coffee bar throughout the shift.

  • Monitor equipment and supplies to ensure everything is in proper working order and adequately stocked.

  • Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and supply needs to management promptly.

  • Follow all hotel, department, safety, security, and operating procedures.

  • Maintain knowledge of hotel operations and work cooperatively with other departments to support overall guest satisfaction.

  • Communicate important shift information and guest concerns to management.

  • Participate in department and interdepartmental meetings as required.

  • Follow established emergency procedures and safety practices.

  • Identify and address potential safety hazards in the work area.

  • Respond professionally and courteously to guest questions, concerns, and complaints.

  • Support a positive team environment and contribute to effective teamwork.

  • Follow directions from supervisors and managers and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Consistently strive to meet or exceed established service, productivity, and performance standards.

  • Previous barista, coffee shop, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred.
