Job summary

Encore Event Center in Strongsville, OH is hiring an Event Cook to lead culinary execution during weddings, corporate events, and other occasions. You will work under the Executive Chef to ensure high-quality food and smooth kitchen operations, even in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

This position emphasizes practical cooking skills, food safety expertise, and teamwork. Weekend availability and early evenings are expected; ServSafe certification is a plus, with opportunities for advancement

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar role and high-volume kitchen preferred.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Deep knowledge of food preparation, safety and sanitation; willingness to learn.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
• Ability to work independently with instruction and as part of a team.
• Part time with potential to grow to full-time for dependable candidates.
• Weekend availability, mainly on Saturdays/Sundays and early evenings.
• ServSafe certification is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Execution

• Food Preparation and Serviceset by company operational procedures
• Monitor food temperatures, taste, and presentation
• Multi taskwhen prepping for volume

Quality Control

• Implement waste-reduction strategiestomaintaincost control
• Resolve any food quality or presentation issues quickly and effectively

Customer Service & Event Coordination

• Communicate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service execution
• Respond to client and guest feedback with professionalism
• Uphold the highest standards of food service and guest satisfaction

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in a similar role, experiencewithin a high-volume kitchenis preferable
