Job summary

Peppermill Reno is seeking a Convention Services Manager to oversee planning and execution of group events from pre-planning to post-event billing. You will serve as the primary liaison for clients and coordinate with all hotel departments to ensure flawless execution.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple events, and proficiency with MS Word/Excel and event systems. CMP certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in hotel event management or convention services.
• CMP certification highly desirable.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple complex events simultaneously and build client rapport.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; familiarity with Delphi, Amadeus or FDC Catering/Sales systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main liaison between hotel and group clients after contract signing.
• Plan and execute all aspects of a group's event from planning to post-event billing.
• Lead pre-convention meetings and coordinate with all hotel departments.
• Create and manage BEOs and event resumes and communicate requirements clearly.
• Identify upselling opportunities to maximize revenue.
• Coordinate room blocks, rooming lists, and hotel reservations.
• On-site management and client communication during events.
• Ensure flawless execution of all event setups, AV, and services as per BEOs.
• Post-event debriefs and accurate final billing with accounting.
