Job summary

Greenleaf Hospitality Group seeks a hands-on events supervisor at Wings Event Center to oversee daily event operations, supervise staff, and ensure superior guest experiences. You will coordinate with management on scheduling, setup specifics, and safety protocols while maintaining high service standards and team engagement.

Role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and clear communication in a fast-paced venue environment and involves physical demands typical of large event centers.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Greenleaf Hospitality Group policies and procedures
• Prioritize and organize work assignments and delegate
• Direct performance of assigned staff and follow up with corrections
• Motivate staff
• Ascertain staff to form cohesive team
• Ability to clearly think, analyze and resolve problems, while exercising good judgment
• Accuracy to details
• Endure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties
• Exert physical effort in transporting and placement of tables, chairs, rolling bars and general catering equipment
• Ensure security of storage and access to WEC property
• Work without direct supervision
• Knowledge of daily scheduled group functions, times, locations and amount of people
• Knowledge of location of all WEC function space and names of rooms
• Knowledge of all catering set-ups and standard room settings
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements and proper chemical handling
• Knowledge of POS machines with the ability to train staff quickly and effectively
• Communicate effectively with guests, management and coworkers to their understanding
• Speak, read, and write English precisely and clearly
• Strong presence on event days
• Resolve any guest issues that may occur, leaving the guest with a positive experience
• Ensure that all associates are being productive and providing personalized guest experience
• Create brand loyalty through the guest service experience and product value
• Responsible for a smooth, positive flow of the business with regards to both internal and external guests
• Build an engaged culture through recognition of individual talents and contributions
• Train and job coach front staff
• Continuous improvement of employee engagement to ensure retention
• Hold associates accountable to standards, communicate to manager if situations arise that may require counseling and participate in counseling
• Confidence and willing to take charge of any situation, including opening and closing, scheduling, and answering questions
• Communicate to staff the vision and goals of Wings Event Center and Greenleaf Hospitality Group
• Hold effective team huddle. Go over any special instructions and/or changes needed for the shift
• Staff schedule and labor expense control
• Money reconciliation and cash handling
• Connect with teammates personally to build positive and trusting relationships
• Communicate effectively and in a timely manner
• Be available to all associates to answer questions, guide, and support them
