Job summary

Hilton Orrington Evanston is looking for a courteous banquet server to assist with setup and service for events in Evanston, IL. You will prepare banquet spaces, greet guests, and ensure excellent hospitality while maintaining hotel standards.

Ideal candidates communicate well in English, work as part of a team, and uphold professional appearance. Responsibilities include serving food/beverages, following safety and alcohol policies, and assisting with room reset after events.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to communicate in English.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Can communicate well with guests and be a team player.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards and etiquette.
• Knowledge of table settings and serviceware.
• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room.
• Ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet room with linen, serviceware and glassware as instructed.
• Attend roll calls to learn function specifics and guest expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests professionally.
• Serve food and/or beverages and clear dishes as courses end.
• Follow alcohol-service policies and safety rules.
• Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction.
• Reset banquet room for next function after events.
• Maintain regular attendance and be available to work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
