Job summary

The I Hotel and Illinois Conference Center in Champaign-Urbana is seeking an Audio Visual Technician who will support meetings, conferences, weddings and events by setting up and operating AV equipment with professionalism. You will troubleshoot basic issues, configure gear to event specs, assist with lighting, maintain equipment, and help ensure an exceptional guest experience.

This full-time role requires strong communication, flexibility for evenings and weekends, and a team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to troubleshoot basic AV equipment and software.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as events require.
Capable of lifting and moving equipment and staying on feet during events.

Responsibilities

Set up, install, and operate AV equipment for meetings, conferences, weddings, and events.
Configure gear to event specifications and room layouts.
Monitor audio and video quality and perform real-time adjustments.
Provide prompt, professional assistance to guests and event organizers.
Troubleshoot basic technical issues and test equipment prior to events.
Assist with lighting setup and maintenance of AV gear post-event.
Maintain inventory and support on-site events in a fast-paced environment.
