Job summary

The I Hotel and Illinois Conference Center in Champaign‑Urbana is seeking a Part-time Conference Center Attendant to ensure seamless events and superior guest service. You will set up and break down conference equipment, maintain room appearance, and respond promptly to guest requests.

This role requires weekend and holiday availability, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask and stay organized across shifts, including day, night, and overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• Must be available to work Saturday evenings.
• High level of commitment to exceptional customer service.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to adapt to changing guest needs.
• Ability to multi-task, with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Mature, with good judgment, detailed oriented, friendly, and responsible.
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and breakdown of conference center equipment prior to and after functions.
• Maintain general appearance of conference center rooms.
• Keep in constant contact with Supervisor(s) regarding the progress of the event and the special needs of guests.
• Pay attention to what is needed in preparation for the next day and set-up.
• Remove trash from all areas.
• Care and maintenance of conference center rooms and events.
• Refreshing in use of meeting rooms during breaks.
• Responding promptly and professionally to guest requests.
• Attends departmental and other meetings as required.
• Know and comply with company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, emergencies, and energy.
• Report working on time and in complete uniform.
• May assist with other duties as assigned.
