Job summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, part of NYU Langone Health, seeks a Unit Clerk for the 11th Floor Medicine unit in the LOH. The role supports effective communication within the nursing unit and across departments, ensuring accurate patient flow and readiness of charts and supplies.

The successful candidate will perform clerical duties, assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers, coordinate patient transportation, and help maintain a safe, organized nursing station.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent or 2 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Prepares Store Room orders according to unit schedule and receives supplies.
• Enters admissions, transfers and discharges on the 24-hour report.
• Participates in Quality Improvement activities as directed by NM/ANM.
• Greets and directs all arrivals to the unit and acts as receptionist.
• Maintains confidentiality and proper handling of patient charts and records.
