• Assists in taking reservations from physicians' offices, organizes daily admissions boards and assigns beds.
• Explains patient responsibilities, such as private room differentials and insurance coverage.
• Obtains required pre-admission and admission information and verifies materials.
• Adheres to guidelines on leave and maintains professional appearance.
• Ensures compliance with Joint Commission standards and regulates documentation.
• Updates computer systems and witnesses required signatures on forms and agreements.
• Promotes accuracy in admissions logs and census data.
• Makes suggestions to improve the area and volunteers for additional tasks.
• Demonstrates prioritization, adaptability, and effective communication with staff, patients and families.
• Answers inquiries by phone and routes non-routine questions to supervisors.
