Job summary

The Barry Robinson Center in Norfolk, VA is hiring a full-time Shift Supervisor for evenings to oversee daily operations and resident safety in a 72-bed residential program. You will supervise direct care staff, coordinate routines, and ensure a calm, structured environment while modeling a restraint-free approach.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field, 1 year of supervisory experience, and 2–3 years in a residential treatment setting with youth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field required.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a residential setting.
• 2–3 years of experience in a Residential Treatment Center with children/adolescents preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and resident safety during assigned shifts.
• Supervise direct care staff and coordinate daily routines and activities.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful environment and ensure policy compliance.
• Lead by example with a restraint-free approach and de-escalation techniques.
